University cubing societies
Many universities around the UK are establishing their own cubing societies, these socities are mostly aimed at students at the university, although sometimes visitors are allowed or people can buy associate memberships for the students union.
Please be aware that these societies are usually aimed at students and may not be suitable for many of the younger cubers in the community.
It is also generally not advisable to decide which university to go to based on the presence of a cubing society there, many of these societies are small and very reliant on a small group of cubers who may have graduated before you even get there, you may be better off trying to start your own cubing society at your own university.
These university societies compete in the Cubing League in most official World Cube Association events, as well as some unofficial events chosen from time to time.
The Cubing League was started by Glib Vedmid from University College London Cubing Society and aims to continue promoting cubing in the universities across the UK and provide a competitive platform online. Many members of these societies will also frequently travel to official World Cube Association competitions and some societies have even organised their own official competitions.
